Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT)

Description
The Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT) has been reinstated as a certification requirement for teachers who will be certified in Ontario as of February 1, 2025.
The test is developed and administered by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO), and successful results will be sent directly to the Ontario College of Teachers.
Administration Windows
The following are the MPT windows for the 2024–2025 school year:
- Wednesday, October 16, 2024, to Saturday, December 7, 2024
- Monday, February 3, 2025, to Saturday, March 15, 2025
- Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to Friday, May 16, 2025 (Tentative)
Registration for the first test window opens September 9, 2024.

EQAO Webinar for Ontario Mathematics Proficiency Test Participants
This session is provided for Ontario teacher candidates taking the Ontario Mathematics Proficiency Test. Participants will learn the process for registering for the test, the format, and the technical requirements for participating from a remote location. EQAO staff will be available to answer questions.
