These resources are provided to support educators with the mathematics component of the EQAO Assessments of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Primary and Junior Divisions, and the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics.

Sample and Practice Tests

All of the sample and practice tests for this school year are now available.
Students can become familiar with the digital assessments and their platform through EQAO’s sample and practice tests.

Administration User Guides

These online user guides provide direction and information to school administrators, teachers and IT professionals. The User Guide for the Administration of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) is currently being revised for the 2024–2025 school year.

Frameworks

The updated framework documents for all assessments are now available. The framework provides a detailed description of the assessment, including how the assessment is mapped to the Ontario language and mathematics curricula.

Administration Dates: 2024–2025 School Year

Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)

The administration of the OSSLT will take place from
  • Tuesday, November 5, 2024 (6:00 a.m. ET) to Tuesday, December 3, 2024 (6:00 p.m. ET), with individual student results reported on or by the end of January 2025.
  • Tuesday, March 18, 2025 (6:00 a.m. ET) to Tuesday, April 15, 2025 (6:00 p.m. ET), with individual student results reported on or by the end of May 2025.

Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics

The administration of the Grade 9 Assessment will take place from
  • Wednesday, January 8, 2025 (6:00 a.m. ET) to Friday, January 31, 2025 (6:00 p.m. ET), with individual student results reported after each student has completed the assessment.
  • Wednesday, May 28, 2025 (6:00 a.m. ET) to Wednesday, June 25, 2025 (6:00 p.m. ET), with individual student results reported after each student has completed the assessment.

Primary- and Junior-Division Assessments of Reading, Writing and Mathematics

The administration of the assessment will take place from Wednesday, May 7, 2025 (6:00 a.m. ET) to Wednesday, June 11, 2025 (6:00 p.m. ET), with individual student results reported by the end of September 2025.
