This committee continues to be one of our key sources of student voice. It’s also an opportunity for interested students to have a positive impact on the agency’s activities and on Ontario’s education system.
Students are the focus of EQAO’s work, and we value learners’ perspectives on everything we do. Student voices and experiences help us to advance our goal of continuous improvement.

Artem, Grade 7
I am excited to be part of the committee because I arrived in Canada from Ukraine in the summer of 2022 and started school in September to join Grade 3. In the spring of 2023, at the end of Grade 3, I successfully passed my first EQAO tests, even though everything was new to me. The Canadian school system has been incredibly supportive and has helped me grow so much over the years, achieving good academic and athletic success. Now, after finishing Grade 6 and passing another round of EQAO tests in May, I want to give back, show things from a student’s point of view and help our school system improve and make learning more engaging, effective and fun for all students in Ontario.
