“I am honoured to be a part of the EQAO Student Engagement Committee. I am glad to know that I have a voice within the education system. I look forward to representing the voices of my peers and myself, as well as making a positive academic impact on students in Ontario. With that said, I am here to positively influence student well-being.”

Ayo, Grade 9
“I was part of the EQAO Student Engagement Committee in Grade 7 and really enjoyed the experience. It was meaningful to have my voice heard and to contribute to discussions that impact students across Ontario. I am excited to be part of the committee again and look forward to continuing to share ideas that can help improve the student experience. Being involved in this work makes me feel like I am making a real difference in education.”

“I am very excited to be a part of this year’s EQAO Student Engagement Committee. I plan to give honest feedback about EQAO assessments to help improve them. This will be done with the needs of every student in mind to ensure that everyone is represented equally and given a fair chance to succeed. “I am excited and honoured to be part of the EQAO Student Engagement Committee because it gives me the chance to represent student voices and contribute to improving the way we learn and are assessed. I am looking forward to sharing ideas from a student’s perspective and helping create positive changes that support all kinds of learners. Having my personal experiences and ideas implemented into a provincial assessment is something I look forward to!”

I am optimistic about being part of the EQAO Student Engagement Committee because of the possible experience I could get from it, as well as helping EQAO get a clearer path of what they could improve during the testing process! Not only that, but I also get to communicate with other individuals who have a different mindset than me and get a better view of my future classes from this moment on! I hope that with my help, EQAO will be able to improve the testing for the generations coming.”

It gives us a chance to be seen and have our ideas be truly taken into account and not just dismissed and put aside just because we are young. It is not only an amazing opportunity, but it gives me a huge chance to be able to make an impact!”
