
EQAO, in partnership with the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) and Vretta Inc., is proud to host IAEA’s 51st Annual Conference in Toronto, under the theme “Trust, Transparency and Technology in Educational Assessment.”
The conference will bring together international experts, researchers, practitioners and policy-makers to explore how assessment systems can be designed and delivered to be more equitable, innovative and trustworthy in a rapidly changing world.
The 2026 IAEA conference will address a wide range of topics related to assessment, including culturally responsive and fair practices; transparency in scoring and measurement; student and educator voice in assessment design; data sharing; AI and machine learning; privacy and security, and the balance between accountability and support in education systems.
This event will provide an excellent platform for sharing experiences, advancing research, strengthening professional collaboration and building global partnerships. EQAO is committed to ensuring that the conference is a productive, engaging and memorable experience for all participants.

Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts
Presentation Information
The conference will have presentation sessions, including panel discussions and poster presentations, as shown below. Please note that all abstract submissions and presentations must be in English.

Presentation Sessions and Panel Discussions
There are three formats for these sessions, as shown above.
Abstracts for presentation sessions and panel discussions should state the purpose, methodology, key findings or insights and implications for educational assessment in relation to the conference theme. Notification of acceptance will be provided to the presenters.
All conference abstract submissions should include the following:
- Presentation format: presentation session (30 minutes), presentation session (45 minutes) or panel discussion (1 hour 30 minutes), as shown in the table above
- Name, organization and e-mail for each presenter
- Title of the presentation
- Conference subtheme (select one of Trust, Transparency or Technology)
- Maximum 350-word abstract
Accepted authors will be required to submit full papers and presentations in the following format:
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Referencing style: APA 7th edition
- Name of the main presenter
- Selected subtheme
Full papers should reflect original work and align with the conference theme: Trust, Transparency and Technology in Educational Assessment.
Poster Presentations
Poster presentations will take place on the last day of the conference. Each presenter will be allotted 10 minutes for an oral summary of their poster. Posters must present original research or projects conducted by the presenters and may include ongoing work. All poster content must be in English.
Poster proposal submissions should include:
- 200-word abstract
- title and presenters
- introduction
- methodology
- results
- discussion and conclusions
The conference organizers will provide a standardized poster template to maintain a uniform display.
- Maximum poster text: 500 words
- Images/figures: Up to three
- Presenter(s) photo (a colour portrait photo of each presenter must be included)
