In 2020–2021, EQAO will be field testing a multi-stage adaptive online Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics. Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with the digital assessment and its platform through EQAO’s online sample test. The online sample test comprises two stages, which include a total of 25 multiple-choice questions from previous assessments. The sample test is equivalent to one of the two sessions students will be completing during the assessment (the actual assessment contains two sessions, with a total of four stages and 50 multiple-choice questions).
Framework provides a detailed description of EQAO’s Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics, including how the assessment is mapped to the Ontario mathematics curriculum as well as a sample student report. For the 2020–2021 school year, EQAO will be field testing a multi-stage adaptive online assessment comprising two sessions (Session A and Session B) with a total of 50 multiple-choice questions.
