These resources explain how to use EQAO assessments and data to support educator practice and school improvement activities.
This guide provides direction and information to principals and teachers administering the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics. Information about accommodations for students with special education needs and special provisions for English language learners are included. Administering the assessment according to the guidelines in this document will ensure province-wide consistency before, during and after the administration.
The following resource and examples are meant to clarify which items can be displayed, and which ones must be removed or covered during the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics.

What’s on EQAO’s Provincial Assessments? Take a look!
Mathematical formulas are provided on the Formula Sheets for student reference during the assessment. Formulas are given for perimeter, area and volume for various geometric figures; the academic formula sheet also includes surface area.
Throughout the assessment, key words are used to identify the type of response required from students.
EQAO assessments are scored using rubrics. The Grade 9 rubrics for mathematics give the criteria for scoring and describe the type of student response that receives each of the codes.
