Pan Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP)
PCAP is an initiative of the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) that complements the other assessments in each province and territory. The assessment was administered to 13-year-old students, who were mostly in Grade 8 or 9. In Ontario, 2476 English-language students from 154 schools and 2132 French-language students from 183 schools participated. Reading, mathematics and science tests were administered in the spring of 2007 to randomly selected students in a random sample of schools with a random assignment of test booklets. Individual student, school and school board results are therefore not available. PCAP succeeds the School Achievement Indicators Program, which ended in 2004.
The first PCAP assessment was administered between May 14 and June 1, 2007
