Mathematical formulas are provided on the Formula Sheets for student reference during the assessment. Formulas are given for perimeter, area and volume for various geometric figures; the academic formula sheet also includes surface area.

This guide has been developed to provide direction and information to principals and teachers administering the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics in winter or spring 2014. EQAO assessments are scored using rubrics. The Grade 9 rubrics for mathematics give the criteria for scoring and describe the type of student response that receives each of the codes.
Mathematics: Open Response (Grades 3, 6 and 9 assessments)
Some of the specific expectations for Grade 9 mathematics require students to investigate mathematical concepts. These investigations, teacher’s daily scripts and other resources, developed by EQAO, are provided for classroom use.
